Marcato Company History

About Marcato

Since 1930, Marcato has been at the heart of kitchens worldwide, shaping the way families enjoy pasta. It all began in a modest workshop behind Otello Marcato's house, where he crafted the first pasta rolling machines. Pedaling his bike through neighboring villages, Otello introduced families to the joy of homemade pasta.

By 1938, demand had grown, leading to the establishment of Marcato's first factory in Campodarsego, Padua. Today, this historic site remains the hub of Marcato's manufacturing, where every component of their renowned product range is meticulously crafted.

In 1962, Marcato embarked on its international journey, shipping pasta machines to Philadelphia, marking the beginning of its global presence, now spanning over 80 countries. The year 1965 witnessed the birth of the Atlas, an iconic machine synonymous with culinary excellence, creativity, and wellness.

As Marcato expanded into new markets and embraced technological advancements, a second factory was opened in 1982, reflecting the company's commitment to innovation and growth.

By 2006, Marcato not only guaranteed the authenticity of "Made in Italy" but also prioritised user wellness through material quality and innovative designs. This dedication culminated in the celebration of Marcato's 85th anniversary in 2015, a testament to its enduring legacy and industrial prowess.

In 2020, Marcato's global footprint continued to flourish, with 70% of sales reaching international markets. Despite this expansion, quality remained paramount, with a minimal defect rate and the production capacity to craft up to 2,500 pasta machines and 250,000 rollers per month.

Embracing sustainability, Marcato implemented circularity principles, minimising waste and maximising resource efficiency. As Marcato looks towards the future, its commitment to excellence, innovation, and the art of pasta-making remains unwavering.
