About Us

An independent UK specialist for Italian-made pasta and pizza tools, kitchen equipment and more.

Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.

The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.

We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

A beechwood pizza dough roller with a tapered rolling head for smooth, even dough spreading. The 7cm roller width suits pizza bases, pie crusts and circular pastries, and the tapered profile makes it easier to control thickness and shape at the edges. Made in Italy by Eppicotispai.

Design and Construction

The roller head is 7cm wide with a tapered profile, allowing more precise control around the edges of a dough base than a straight-sided roller. The handles are 10cm each, giving enough grip length for comfortable two-handed use. Made entirely from beechwood, which is dense enough to roll firm doughs without flexing.

What It's For

The tapered head makes this roller particularly well suited to pizza dough, where you want a thinner edge and a slightly thicker centre, or a consistently thin base depending on the style. The same profile works well for pie crusts and circular pastries where the shape needs to be controlled as you roll. For flat pasta sheets, fondant and shortbread where uniform thickness across the full width matters more, the straight pasta roller is the better choice.

Care

Hand wash only. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Wipe down with a damp cloth after use, rinse quickly if needed, and dry immediately. Prolonged exposure to moisture will damage the beechwood over time. Store in a dry place.

What is the difference between a tapered and straight rolling pin?

A tapered roller gives more control at the edges of a dough base, making it easier to shape circular doughs like pizza and pie crusts. A straight rolling pin gives more uniform pressure across the full width, better suited to flat pasta sheets and larger rectangular doughs.

Can it be used for pasta dough?

It can be used for pasta dough but a longer straight rolling pin gives better results for sheets, as the tapered profile is optimised for circular shaping rather than flat even sheets. For pasta rolling, a straight beechwood rolling pin is the more appropriate tool.

What is the difference between this and the pasta roller?

This roller has a tapered profile, giving more control at the edges for circular doughs like pizza bases and pie crusts. The straight pasta roller applies even pressure across the full width, better suited to flat pasta sheets, fondant and shortbread where uniform thickness is the priority.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No. Hand wash only. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Dry immediately after washing to protect the beechwood.
