Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.
The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.
We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

A solid stainless steel meat tenderiser weighing 800g, made from a single piece of 18/10 stainless steel. The flat circular base pounds and flattens meat and poultry evenly, and the weight does most of the work. Works best on chilled meat. Also suited to smash burgers. Made in Italy by Eppicotispai.
The tenderiser is made from 18/10 stainless steel with a flat circular base 85mm in diameter and a total height of 110mm. At 800g it is substantially heavier than a standard mallet, which means less effort is needed per strike.
The flat base flattens chicken breasts, veal escalopes and pork steaks to an even thickness for faster, more consistent cooking. Works best on chilled meat, which holds its shape better during pounding. Always work on a solid chopping board and cover the meat with plastic wrap to avoid tearing the surface. The weight and flat base also make it the right tool for smash burgers, pressing the patty firmly onto a hot flat surface to maximise the crust.
The one-piece stainless steel construction means there are no wooden parts to crack or handles to loosen, and it is fully dishwasher safe. The 800g weight makes it noticeably more effective per strike than lighter mallets, and the smooth base leaves a clean, even surface on the meat. If you also need a spiked face for breaking down tougher cuts, the beechwood and aluminium mallet covers both jobs in one tool.

The beechwood mallet has both a smooth face and a spiked face, making it the better choice if you also need to tenderise tougher cuts by breaking down muscle fibres.
