Unlike hanging racks, this tray dries pasta flat – making it the right choice for short pasta shapes, gnocchi, and lasagne sheets that can't be draped over arms or rods. The wide-holed mesh base allows air to circulate from beneath as well as above, giving an even dry throughout. Each tray sits on four legs, and additional trays stack directly on top when you need more capacity.
The mesh base is food-safe and designed with wide holes that allow free airflow above and below whatever's sitting on it. Items dried on a solid surface tend to dry unevenly on the underside – the mesh eliminates that, whether you're drying fresh pasta, herb sprigs, or sliced mushrooms.
Each tray stands on four legs that raise it 9.5cm, and a second tray stacks directly onto those legs. There's no fixed limit to how many you can stack – most home users find two or three gives plenty of capacity. Place the stack in a dry, well-ventilated spot and leave it to work.
At 51 x 40cm, each tray gives a comfortable spread of drying surface. Large enough to lay out a good portion of lasagne sheets or garganelli without overlapping, and wide enough to spread herbs and sliced produce in a single layer – which is what even drying requires.
The frame is natural beechwood throughout – durable, food-safe, and traditionally used in Italian pasta-making tools. Handwash only and dry thoroughly before storing to prevent moisture build-up in the wood. Do not leave submerged or put in the dishwasher.
Most pasta drying racks only work for long strands. This tray handles the shapes they can't – short pasta, gnocchi, flat sheets – while doubling as a proper drying tray for herbs and seasonal produce. If you make pasta regularly, grow your own herbs, or preserve vegetables, it earns its place throughout the year rather than just at pasta night.

Price is per tray. Additional trays can be purchased separately and stacked.
Yes – the flat mesh base is well suited to short pasta shapes and gnocchi that can't be hung on a rack. Lay them in a single layer on the mesh and leave in a well-ventilated spot. The wide holes ensure even pieces get airflow underneath.
There's no fixed maximum – each tray's four legs support the one above. Most people use two or three stacked trays. Make sure the stack is on a stable, level surface with enough space around it for air to circulate freely.
Yes. Place sprigs or flower heads in a single layer on the mesh and leave in a dry, well-ventilated spot away from direct sunlight. The stackable design lets you dry several herb varieties at once without any of them touching.
Handwash with mild detergent and warm water. Dry the tray thoroughly – particularly the mesh – before storing. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave submerged in water, as prolonged moisture will affect the wood.
No – the tray is made for food drying at room temperature and is not intended for hot items straight from the oven. Using it as a baking cooling rack could damage the wood and mesh over time.

Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.
The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.
We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.
*UK orders only. Shipping restrictions and import duties may apply for orders outside the UK.
