The Stackable Beechwood Pasta, Herb and Vegetable Dryer is a flat-based drying tray made in Italy from natural beechwood with a food-grade mesh base, measuring 51 x 40cm, and designed to stack with additional trays for drying pasta, herbs, mushrooms, tomatoes and other vegetables.

Unlike hanging racks, this tray dries pasta flat – making it the right choice for short pasta shapes, gnocchi, and lasagne sheets that can't be draped over arms or rods. The wide-holed mesh base allows air to circulate from beneath as well as above, giving an even dry throughout. Each tray sits on four legs, and additional trays stack directly on top when you need more capacity.

Food-grade mesh base with wide holes for airflow

The mesh base is food-safe and designed with wide holes that allow free airflow above and below whatever's sitting on it. Items dried on a solid surface tend to dry unevenly on the underside – the mesh eliminates that, whether you're drying fresh pasta, herb sprigs, or sliced mushrooms.

  • Food-grade mesh – safe for direct contact with food
  • Wide holes allow airflow above and below
  • Suited to pasta, herbs, mushrooms, tomatoes, vegetables and more

Stackable design for flexible capacity

Each tray stands on four legs that raise it 9.5cm, and a second tray stacks directly onto those legs. There's no fixed limit to how many you can stack – most home users find two or three gives plenty of capacity. Place the stack in a dry, well-ventilated spot and leave it to work.

  • Stack multiple trays vertically without using extra worktop space
  • Four legs raise each tray 9.5cm for airflow between levels
  • Sold per tray – buy as many as you need

Generous 51 x 40cm tray size

At 51 x 40cm, each tray gives a comfortable spread of drying surface. Large enough to lay out a good portion of lasagne sheets or garganelli without overlapping, and wide enough to spread herbs and sliced produce in a single layer – which is what even drying requires.

  • 51 x 40cm tray area – generous for home use
  • Frame thickness 2.6cm, height with legs 9.5cm
  • Suited to flat pasta shapes, short pasta, gnocchi, herbs and sliced produce

Natural beechwood frame – Made in Italy

The frame is natural beechwood throughout – durable, food-safe, and traditionally used in Italian pasta-making tools. Handwash only and dry thoroughly before storing to prevent moisture build-up in the wood. Do not leave submerged or put in the dishwasher.

Why choose the Stackable Beechwood Dryer?

Most pasta drying racks only work for long strands. This tray handles the shapes they can't – short pasta, gnocchi, flat sheets – while doubling as a proper drying tray for herbs and seasonal produce. If you make pasta regularly, grow your own herbs, or preserve vegetables, it earns its place throughout the year rather than just at pasta night.

What's in the box

  • Stackable Beechwood Dryer Tray (51 x 40cm mesh base, 4 legs)

Price is per tray. Additional trays can be purchased separately and stacked.

Can I use this tray to dry gnocchi or short pasta shapes?

Yes – the flat mesh base is well suited to short pasta shapes and gnocchi that can't be hung on a rack. Lay them in a single layer on the mesh and leave in a well-ventilated spot. The wide holes ensure even pieces get airflow underneath.

How many trays can I stack at once?

There's no fixed maximum – each tray's four legs support the one above. Most people use two or three stacked trays. Make sure the stack is on a stable, level surface with enough space around it for air to circulate freely.

Is this suitable for drying herbs?

Yes. Place sprigs or flower heads in a single layer on the mesh and leave in a dry, well-ventilated spot away from direct sunlight. The stackable design lets you dry several herb varieties at once without any of them touching.

How do I clean the tray?

Handwash with mild detergent and warm water. Dry the tray thoroughly – particularly the mesh – before storing. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave submerged in water, as prolonged moisture will affect the wood.

Can I use this as a baking cooling rack?

No – the tray is made for food drying at room temperature and is not intended for hot items straight from the oven. Using it as a baking cooling rack could damage the wood and mesh over time.

Italian Kitchen Equipment You Can Trust

An independent UK specialist for Italian-made pasta and pizza tools, kitchen equipment and more.

Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.

The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.

We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

*UK orders only. Shipping restrictions and import duties may apply for orders outside the UK.
