Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.
The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.
We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

A stainless steel knife for breaking and carving Parmesan and other hard Italian cheeses. The pointed, asymmetric blade is designed to be pressed into the cheese and twisted rather than sliced, producing the irregular pieces that hard cheese is traditionally served in. Made in Italy by Eppicotispai, with a turned beechwood handle. Available in two sizes.
Available in two sizes: a 120mm x 25mm version for everyday use and a larger 160mm x 38mm version for bigger blocks. Both share the same pointed stainless steel blade and turned beechwood handle.
Hard Italian cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, and aged Pecorino are not meant to be sliced. The correct technique is to insert the knife point into the cheese and apply pressure to break off irregular pieces, which preserves the texture and crystalline structure of the cheese. This knife is shaped specifically for that purpose. For serving the broken pieces at the table, the cheese fork is the natural companion tool. For softer cheeses, the Cheddar spatula or Stilton spatula are more suitable.
The small (120mm) version suits most domestic use, including standard wedges and smaller blocks of Parmigiano or Grana Padano. The large (160mm) version is better suited to larger blocks, or if you regularly buy whole or half wheels of hard cheese.
The Parmesan knife follows the traditional Italian design for hard cheese service, with a blade shape that enables the correct breaking technique rather than slicing. The beechwood handle and stainless steel construction match the other tools in the range.

Hard Italian cheeses including Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, aged Pecorino, and aged Manchego. Any hard cheese where breaking rather than slicing is the correct serving method.
The small (120mm) version suits standard domestic use. The large (160mm) is better for bigger blocks or if you regularly work with larger quantities of hard cheese.
No. The beechwood handle is not dishwasher safe and should not be soaked in water. Hand wash with mild soap, rinse quickly, and dry immediately. Prolonged exposure to water will damage the wood over time.
