Pulltex's double-lever corkscrews are among the most widely used in professional wine service, and the Pulltap Button Lever is the everyday version of that same mechanism. The retractable double lever extracts corks in two controlled steps, vertically, without twisting or crumbling the cork. The underlying mechanism has been awarded 1st Prize at the Gevrey-Chambertin Corkscrew Competition in France. Stock is limited to the colours shown and will not be replenished.
The retractable double lever gives you two points of mechanical advantage as the cork comes out, which keeps extraction vertical throughout. That matters most with longer, older, or more fragile corks where a sideways pull risks breaking or fragmenting the cork into the wine.
The spiral is coated with Teflon, which reduces friction as it drives into the cork. It enters more cleanly and pulls through with less resistance than an uncoated worm, which reduces the chance of tearing the cork on entry.
The built-in cutting positioner guides the foil blade for a clean cut at the same point on the bottle neck each time. The blade opens with one hand via the easy-open mechanism, so you're not fumbling to unfold it before use.
The handle is shaped for a comfortable grip during extraction. The button lever mechanism means you're pressing rather than pulling to release the lever, which keeps your hand position stable throughout the two-step extraction.
This is the same Pulltex double-lever mechanism found across their professional-grade range, in a compact everyday form. If you already use Pulltex wine tools, the Pulltap is a natural addition. Stock across all colours is limited and will not be restocked, so availability is as shown.

Both use Pulltex's double-lever extraction mechanism. The button lever version has a button-release mechanism on the lever and a coloured ergonomic handle, while the standard double lever is the classic waiter's friend format. The extraction performance is comparable.
Yes. The double-lever mechanism and Teflon-coated spiral work on natural, synthetic, and long corks. The vertical extraction is particularly useful with synthetic corks, which can grip the bottle neck more tightly than natural cork.
Yes, colours are selectable at checkout. Available colours are purple, orange, burgundy, yellow, white, and black. Stock is limited and will not be replenished, so not all colours may be available at the time of ordering.
Yes. The double-lever mechanism is a patented Pulltex design and the same system that won 1st Prize at the Gevrey-Chambertin Corkscrew Competition in France.
The standard Pulltap spiral is designed for right-handed use. Pulltex make a dedicated left-handed version with an inverted spiral, but that model is not currently stocked at Pasta Kitchen.
