About Us

An independent UK specialist for Italian-made pasta and pizza tools, kitchen equipment and more.

Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.

The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.

We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

We’ve put together the product information to help make your shopping experience on pasta.kitchen as smooth as possible.

The Berkel Red Line 250 combines Italian design with professional slicing performance, bringing commercial slicing technology into premium home kitchens and hospitality environments. Designed in Italy, it features a 250mm chromed steel blade, a 0.19 kW motor and an integrated blade sharpening system, delivering precise and consistent slicing for charcuterie, deli meats, vegetables and other foods.

Cutting Performance

The Red Line 250 uses Berkel's professional blade profile and inclined cutting plane, which allows food to move naturally toward the blade during slicing. The result is clean, uniform slices with less effort and less waste.

  • 250mm chromed steel blade with professional cutting profile
  • Inclined food plate for smoother cutting
  • Slice deflector for clean slice release
  • Integrated blade sharpening system

Motor Performance

The 0.19 kW motor maintains consistent blade speed throughout use, producing smooth slices while reducing vibration. It handles a wide range of foods including cured meats, cheeses and firmer ingredients.

Integrated Blade Sharpener

The built-in sharpening system allows the blade to be maintained directly on the machine, without separate tools. Regular sharpening preserves slicing performance and extends blade life.

Design and Construction

The Red Line series combines professional slicing geometry with a design suited to modern kitchens. The aluminium alloy body is durable and compact, sitting comfortably on a kitchen worktop. The curved profile references Berkel's historic slicing machines.

  • Aluminium alloy construction
  • Compact footprint for kitchen worktop use
  • Stable base for precise cutting

Cleaning and Safety

The Red Line 250 is designed for easy routine cleaning and safe operation.

  • Removable blade cover for cleaning access
  • Wide clearance areas to reduce food build-up
  • Stable food carriage for safe slicing

Using the Red Line 250 for Cheese

The standard blade is designed primarily for meats and charcuterie. Softer cheeses can occasionally be sliced, but for regular cheese use Berkel recommends the optional Teflon-coated blade, which prevents product build-up and improves performance. Contact us if you need the Teflon blade option.

Why Choose the Red Line 250

The Red Line 250 is well suited to serious home cooks, charcuterie enthusiasts and hospitality environments where consistent slicing and Italian quality are priorities. It offers a larger blade and greater stability than the Home Line Plus models, with the addition of an integrated blade sharpener for long-term performance.
