Learn more about OneID >Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.
The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.
We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

A single-blade mezzaluna for chopping herbs, garlic, onions, chillies, nuts and chocolate. The 145mm curved stainless steel blade rocks cleanly through ingredients with minimal effort, and the compact size suits smaller boards and everyday prep tasks. Made in Italy by Eppicotispai, with beechwood handles.
The blade is 145mm wide, curved to allow a natural rocking motion from the wrist. Both handles are turned beechwood, giving a secure grip on either side of the blade. The stainless steel blade is food-grade and holds its edge well with normal use and proper care.
The mezzaluna, meaning "half moon" in Italian, is the traditional tool for fine chopping in Italian kitchens. The rocking motion gives more control than a standard knife for tasks like mincing garlic to a paste, finely chopping fresh herbs, or breaking down nuts and chocolate. The 145mm size is well suited to everyday prep quantities and standard chopping boards. For larger quantities or heavy-duty tasks, the 250mm large mezzaluna covers more ground per stroke. For finer results in less time, the double blade version cuts twice per pass.
Hand wash only. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Rinse quickly, dry immediately, and store in a dry place. Prolonged exposure to moisture will damage the beechwood handles over time.

A mezzaluna is used for chopping and mincing ingredients using a rocking motion. It is particularly useful for herbs, garlic, onions, chillies, nuts and chocolate, where a rocking cut gives more control and consistency than a standard knife. It can also be used to slice pizza and flatbreads.
The small has a 145mm blade, suited to everyday prep quantities and standard chopping boards. The large has a 250mm blade, covering more ground per stroke and better suited to larger quantities or bigger boards.
The single blade makes one cut per stroke. The double blade makes two cuts per stroke, producing finer results more quickly. The double blade is the better choice if you regularly mince large quantities of herbs or garlic.
