Designed by Marcato as the natural companion to their Atlas pasta machines, the Tacapasta gives freshly cut pasta the space it needs to dry evenly without strands pressing together or clumping. The 16 polycarbonate arms fan out from a central steel column to create a generous drying surface, then fold back down in seconds for compact storage on any shelf.
The arms radiate outward in a staircase arrangement, giving each portion of pasta its own space with air circulating freely between them. Longer strands drape naturally over the upper arms without bunching at the base, making it well suited to spaghetti, tagliatelle, fettuccine, linguine, pappardelle and similar long shapes.
A slim rod sits inside the central column and lifts out for use as a pasta-lifting wand. It lets you gather freshly cut strands directly from your pasta machine cutter and carry them straight to the rack without tangling or breaking. Once you're done, it slots back into the column and stores with the rack itself.
The arms close into a slim column that takes up very little shelf space. The fan-close mechanism takes a few seconds to operate, and the rack is stable when open – it doesn't shift or topple during use.
The central column and base are chrome-plated steel; the 16 arms are food-safe polycarbonate. Built to the same standard as Marcato's pasta machines and designed to last through regular use. Wipe clean with a dry cloth or soft brush – no need to submerge it.
The Tacapasta is the drying rack Marcato designed to sit alongside their pasta machines, and that purpose shows in the details. The integrated wand is genuinely useful – it removes the fiddly step of transferring pasta by hand and keeps long strands intact. If you own a Marcato Atlas machine, this is the natural drying rack to pair with it. It also makes a thoughtful gift for any home pasta maker looking to complete their setup.
The Tacapasta pairs naturally with the full range of Marcato pasta machines and Marcato accessories. See all options in our pasta drying rack collection.
Yes. The Tacapasta is designed by Marcato as a universal accessory and works with all Atlas pasta machines, including the Atlas 150, Atlas 150 Wellness, and the Atlas+ range. The integrated wand is particularly useful when cutting pasta directly from the machine.
The Tacapasta holds up to 2kg of freshly cut pasta across its 16 arms. For a single home cooking session, this is more than enough – most fresh pasta recipes for two to four people produce well under 500g of cut pasta.
Wipe down the arms with a dry cloth or soft brush after use. Dried pasta brushes off easily once it has set. Avoid soaking in water or putting the rack in the dishwasher, as this can affect the steel column over time.
The Tacapasta is available in clear, red, black and blue. All versions share the same specifications and are made in Italy to the same standard.
The Tacapasta is designed for long pasta shapes that drape over the arms – spaghetti, tagliatelle, fettuccine, linguine, pappardelle and similar. It's not suited to short shapes like rigatoni or farfalle, which are better dried flat on a tray.
Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.
The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.
We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.
*UK orders only. Shipping restrictions and import duties may apply for orders outside the UK.
