An independent UK specialist for Italian-made pasta and pizza tools, kitchen equipment and more.

Pasta Kitchen launched in 2016 with a straightforward aim: stock the tools that actually make a difference when you're cooking Italian food at home. We're a family-run business, and Italian cooking tools are genuinely what we know. We've been selling Marcato pasta machines and Eppicotispai tools the entire time, and every product we add to the range gets used and tested by our team at home before it goes on the site.

The range has grown a lot since then, but the approach hasn't. We choose products we believe in, from brands that have been making them properly for decades. Almost everything we sell is made in Italy. Marcato pasta machines are manufactured in Campodarsego, near Padova. Berkel slicers and knives are made in Italy, in the province of Varese. Cerutti Inox and Eppicotispai are Italian-made brands we've carried for years.

We're an authorised UK retailer for the brands we carry. Everything is supplied with UK-compatible plugs where applicable, VAT is included in the price, and there are no import duties or customs surprises on delivery.* You may be able to find some of these products cheaper from overseas sellers, but what you won't get is UK warranty support, correct specifications for the UK market, or anyone to call if something goes wrong.

The Berkel acacia chopping board measures 395 x 275mm with a 26mm thickness, a generous size for everyday prep that stays put on the worktop without moving around under the knife. Acacia is one of the harder hardwoods available for kitchen use, dense enough to resist scoring and gentle enough not to blunt your knives. The same board works just as well on the table for cheese, charcuterie or bread, so you're not carrying two pieces of kit for the same job.

Acacia Wood Construction

Acacia is a dense, close-grained hardwood that holds up well under daily use. It's harder than beech or rubberwood, which means it resists deep scoring over time, and it's gentler on knife edges than glass or ceramic surfaces.

Size and Stability

At 395 x 275mm, this board gives you enough room for most everyday prep tasks without taking over the worktop. The 26mm thickness keeps it stable during use and it won't flex or shift when you're working through harder vegetables or a loaf of bread.

Use as a Serving Board

The acacia grain gives the board a clean appearance that works well at the table as well as in the kitchen. It's a practical choice for putting together a charcuterie spread or a cheese board without needing a separate serving piece.

First Use and Seasoning

Season the board with oil before using it for the first time. This protects the wood and takes only a few minutes.

  • Apply a teaspoon of olive oil to a cloth and wipe evenly across the entire surface
  • Stand the board vertically and allow to dry fully
  • Repeat the oiling process a second time and allow to dry again
  • Check the oil has been absorbed before first use
  • The board will appear slightly darker after oiling (this is normal)

Cleaning and Maintenance

Hand wash only. Do not put this board in a dishwasher. Regular light maintenance keeps the surface in good condition and helps manage food odours over time.

It works well alongside the Berkel Icon Line 170 as a serving board for sliced meats and charcuterie, since the Icon Line has no dedicated board attachment of its own.   • Items must be unused, in original packaging, and resaleable (see below regarding use and diminished value)
  • Returns must include your full name and order number

Diminished Value and Use of Goods

  • Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, handling beyond what is necessary to inspect an item may result in a deduction from your refund
  • This includes use of food preparation equipment with ingredients such as flour, dough, or egg
  • Items used in this way cannot be resold as new and may be subject to a reduced refund
  • Any deduction will be based on the condition of the item following inspection

Berkel Manufacturer’s Warranty

Warranty Coverage

Berkel products sold by pasta.kitchen are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty, provided in addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Warranty period begins from the date of purchase and applies when products are used correctly and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Berkel food slicers: 24 months
  • All other Berkel products: 12 months

What Is Covered

The manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal domestic use.

If a valid claim is confirmed, the manufacturer will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Alternative resolution in line with applicable consumer protection regulations

What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage after delivery (transport, mishandling, incorrect setup)
  • Misuse, negligence, or use outside manufacturer guidance
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Consumable components (e.g. blades, sharpening wheels), unless there is a manufacturing defect
  • Voltage fluctuations exceeding 10% of nominal value
  • Unauthorised repairs or modifications
